West Elm Workspace

Beyond were asked to redesign and redevelop west elm WORKSPACE’s digital channel to streamline operation of the site and better meet the complex needs of consumers and industry professionals. The redesign emphasised the products themselves, aligning with west elm’s goals of making their customers’ workspace as beautiful as their homes. The product page templates were completely overhauled to better showcase their imagery.

The Build

For Development, we were required to immerse ourselves in West Elm’s CMS, Magento, which was not something I had personally had a lot of experience with prior to this project. Overall, it was fairly easy to get to grips with and we were able to ramp up our learning quickly and begin development of the new templates, which required us to push Megento beyond its native capabilities. With a variety of customisations and upgrades, we enabled new features and enhancements that gave west elm much greater control over the design and content on the site.
