Beyond was asked to completely re-imagine Virgin’s .com presence ensuring that the core brand values of one of the world’s most famous brands shone through every step of the way.

The Build

I was one of two Front End Developer’s working on this project. We defined and developed a custom responsive framework/grid that fluidly resizes to match all devices. We paired structured SASS with TWIG templates for modular, scalable and maintainable development of this content driven HTML5 website. We also created custom CKEditor and JS plugins to allow for additional and enhanced functionality within the CMS, providing the client with the ability to build/manipulate complex page layouts in real time.

• Presented regularly to the client and key stakeholders.
• Developed the site, ensuring all code perfectly matched the UX/UI requirements and adhered to Beyond’s strict guidelines and coding standards.

Results/Awards

• Virgin Disruptors drove 90,000+ visits to .com in the first month
• Virgin.com now receives 1.9 million unique views per month
• Page views per visit increased by 32%
• Delivered a 107.27% uplift in time-on-site

And yes, we got to meet the big man himself, Sir Richard Branson!
