Beyond.com

I had the honour of developing Beyond’s website. We decided to go with WordPress for our CMS as it was something we were all familiar with.

The Build

To ensure a well structured, organised codebase I used Twig templating (via Timber) to separate the Front End view templates from the Back End. This allowed me to easily abstract the components/pages into named module folders containing the relevant HTML, CSS and JS for each.

Additional features of note include flexible CMS content blocks to create a wide range of different layouts, Parallax scrolling, dynamic iconography to represent the current weather for each office via a weather API and an integrated Jobs API.

My Role

• Technical Lead and Full Stack Developer.
• Liaised with key stakeholders and UX/Design teams, providing estimates, scoping and technical oversight to the UX/UI Design process.
• Provided additional Design support, working on key pages and components.
• Developed the site, ensuring all code perfectly matched the UX/UI requirements and adhered to Beyond’s strict guidelines and coding standards.
